The Monrovia Wildcat’s CIF run ended last Friday as they fell to the Tahquitz Titans 1-0. Isaiah Ramos pitched a strong game against the team from Hemet, pitching a complete game with 5 hits, 1 earned run, 2 walks and 10 strikeouts.
The first and only run of the game came in the first inning. The Titans threatened early, loading up the bases and bringing Jahred Butler (#26) to the plate. He rips a single to left field, scoring Kendall Brett (#8) as Caleb Farmer (#15) rounds third and heads for home.
The play at the plate was a collision, like a running back squaring up with a linebacker. The Wildcat’s catcher blocks the plate and holds on to the ball. The runner is out.
Isaiah ends the inning with his first of ten strikeouts.
The Wildcat’s had some opportunities throughout the game to even up the score. Unfortunately, the Wildcat’s could not get their bats going, recording only two hits. Monrovia ends their season with a 19-7 record.
