The Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) will hold a development workshop for the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument. President Obama declared part of the San Gabriel Mountains a National Monument last year. A plan to manage the monument must now be developed and implemented by the U.S. Forest Service.
SCAG’s workshop will be held on Thursday, April 28, at the Azusa National Guard Armory (1351 W. Sierra Madre Ave.) from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The meeting will consist of transportation agencies and other state and local stakeholders in a day-long discussion that will help form the San Gabriel National Monument transportation component of the plan. The program will include guest speakers and panels related to the topic. For additional information, please contact Javiera Cartagena at cartagena@scag.ca.gov or by calling (213) 236-1980.
