Oh Sheet, Bedstock Brought The Party To Our Rooms

For the second year in a row, we rocked out to our favorite artists – without stepping foot outside the bedroom.

There are thousands of children around the world, with the same desires and ambitions as any other, who are spending the holidays in bed- a hospital bed, as their illnesses hold them hostage.

But this shouldn’t mean they have to miss out.

Yesterday, Bedstock Festival featured another all-star lineup of 30+ bands, all performing from their own beds, in solidarity of these children. The Decemberists, BØRNS, Jim James, Dillon Francis, Sevyn Streeter, and several more artists rocked out on their mattresses to support MyMusicRx and The Children’s Cancer Association.

The new Bedstock Writers Stage featured authors like Cheryl Strayed, Chelsea Cain, Jon Klassen, Carson Ellis, and Mac Barnett reading beloved children’s books from bed.

The event coincided with Giving Tuesday, the global movement after Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday, that encourages people to give back.

In 2014, the festival raised thousands of dollars and was nominated for a prestigious Webby Award in the Websites-Events category, and was shortlisted for two Cannes Cyber Lions.
