“Dreams and Delusions: The Surreal World of Dean Fleming”

Dean Fleming was born in Aberdeen, Washington and spent his teenage years playing in garage bands around the Pacific Northwest. An interest in the visual arts led him to southern California where he attended Art Center College of Design. His art utilizes impressive technique to blend symbolic imagery and visual puns into eerie, yet beautifully illustrated works. He has exhibited in numerous galleries in the U.S. and Europe, from Berlin to UK to New York to San Francisco to Brazil. Through Sept. 19.

7th Annual Arcadia Juried Photography Contest and Exhibition “Water in Motion”

Water is vital to all life. It is a basic element that is a vibrant part of our world. In what ways can you show water in action, through the art of photography? Join us for our 7th Annual Juried Photography Contest and share your images with the community! If you have a camera and can take photographs, you can enter! All judged and accepted entries will be hung in the final exhibition. 1st, 2nd, 3rd and honorable mention winners will be announced at the opening reception. “Blinkers and Winkers: Stars of the Silver Screen at Santa Anita Park, 1930s, ‘40s and ‘50s”

Enjoy this winter exhibit of photographs from the 1930s, 40s and 50s of movie stars at Santa Anita Park enjoying the races! From the Museum’s permanent collections. Some faces you will remember well and some you may have forgotten. Step back in time, remember the glamour of the silver screen and see the movie stars as they enjoy daily life. Nov. 21 – Jan. 16, 2016.
