LA has attained a new addition with southern Spanish flavor to add to your savory tastebuds: Moruno’s Sandwich and Skewer Window. Taking over the former Short Order at the Original Farmer’s Market on Fairfax and Third, this newly opened hot window hosts a legit menu of skewers, sandwiches and more, founded by David Rosoff and Chris Feldmeir. Although it’s sweeping in as an order and pick up window, the rest of Moruno—along with Bar Vermut—will open later this year in the corner building. They also have Bar Moruno hitting up Grand Central Market later this year, too. That’s when we’ll take a table for two, please.
Now for some take-out flavor: the southern Spanish-style kebabs (pork, lamb, chicken and even vegetarian) cool over hot coals after being marinated in turmeric, paprika, peppers and cumin for a North African and Moorish taste. Then there are sandwiches—like, the kind we want, need and must have for lunch—come with the same kick with a special bread that is on a whole ‘nother level itself.
Hours run 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Friday to Sunday, to start, with expanded hours to come. Image via LA Weekly.
