The All You Can Eat extravaganza will feature Beltran’s famous Mumbo Gumbo chicken and andouille sausage gumbo, boiled Mexican white shrimp served with garlic aioli, bread, salad, and bananas foster flambé. Beer and wine will be available. A silent auction will add to the fun.
Jazz guitarist Buddy Zapata, and rockabilly band, The Screaming 8-Balls will rock the house. “If you don’t like to eat, drink and dance, then don’t show up,” said Beltran. Early bird tickets can be purchased until for $45 until September 1. Regular priced tickets will be $50. For information or to purchase tickets, visit http://www.gumbofestpasadena.com.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Pasadena Education Network (PEN), a network of more than 1,000 parents who support and send their children to Pasadena Unified public schools. PEN promotes family participation in public education to benefit all students. The nonprofit provides parent education programs and services to help parents explore, evaluate, and engage with their public schools as well as representing a collective voice for parents with the Pasadena Unified School District.
