California Highway Patrol motorcycle officers spotted a stolen Bentley on the 210 Foothill Freeway late Monday and pursued it into an Old Pasadena parking structure, where the bandit managed to escape.
The CHP pursuit began on the eastbound 210 near the Lincoln Avenue off-ramp at about 8 p.m. The luxury car estimated to be worth over $400,000 was reported stolen in Pasadena Monday morning.
The suspect exited the freeway and Pasadena patrol units and a police helicopter joined in the chase.
In the area of Arroyo Parkway and Holly Street, witnesses told authorities the Bentley had sped into a parking structure.
Police and California Highway Patrol officers set up a containment area and began a careful search of the structure assisted by two police dogs, one from Pasadena and the second from South Pasadena, Luna said.
Although the Bentley was located, the suspect eluded those on his trail and remains at large. Police said only that the suspect is a Latino in his 20s or 30s wearing a white T-shirt.
Anyone who has any information about the suspect should call Pasadena police at (626) 744-4241.
