A 54-year-old Pasadena man threatened to kill himself with a gun in front of his wife and family Saturday, at one point firing a bullet into the floor and hitting his wife before arriving officers were able to take him into custody.
Pasadena police Lt. John Mercado said around 3:35 p.m. Saturday a family member inside the home in the 2400 block of East Las Lunas Street called 9-1-1 and said the man was threatening to kill himself and that he was armed.
The man also allegedly pointed the gun at a woman inside the home but struck the woman as well, Mercado said. Inside the house at the time were a 17-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy.
Arriving officers contacted the man and found him unarmed at the time they approached him. He was arrested and booked for three different firearms-related felonies.
Authorities identified the suspect as Setrak Malatian of Pasadena.
None of the victims in the home was seriously injured, although the woman sustained a visible red mark on her face.
Police recovered a nine millimeter handgun, Mercado said.
