

A special culinary demonstration and tasting party on Thursday, May 28 at the Chinese Culture Center drew a large crowd Thursday night in El Monte.
Sponsored by the Overseas Community Affairs Council of the Republic of China, Chef Lee Chia-cheng 李
家成and his assistant Hwang Bo-chang 黃柏璋 arrived from Taipei to promote traditional Taiwanese cuisine, and to have an exciting, interactive exchange with food lovers here in Los Angeles.

Chef Lee is a renowned chef in Taiwan as well as a prominent professor teaching at Ching Kuo Institute
of Management and Health. He specializes in traditional Taiwanese cuisine and is a vegetable and is an ice carving expert. Since 2009, he has won many major cooking competitions at home and abroad.
Chef Lee has prepared more than two dozen authentic Taiwanese dishes for his trip to Los Angeles,
and will led a cooking demonstration for four of them at Thursday evening’s event.
