A hit-and-run charge has been filed against a 38-year-old woman accused of running over a family in a crosswalk in South Pasadena late last year, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced May 4. Tiffani Monique Lowden (DOB 5/23/76) of Whittier was charged with one felony count of hit-and-run driving resulting in injury to another person and one misdemeanor count of driving when privilege is suspended or revoked. Case GA096159 includes an allegation of great bodily injury to a four-month-old girl and her mother. Arraignment for Lowden was scheduled in the afternoon in Department 5 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Alhambra Branch.
On Dec. 21, 2014, a husband, wife and baby were in a crosswalk near Orange Grove Boulevard and Columbia Street when they were allegedly struck by the defendant’s vehicle, prosecutors said. The mother and her baby were dragged a few feet and their dog was killed in the crash, prosecutors added. If convicted as charged, Lowden faces a maximum possible sentence of nine years in state prison. The case remains under investigation by the South Pasadena Police Department.
