Dear Editor:
What was Ms. Chu’s true motive to ask President Obama on August 18, 2014 to use his executive power to fast-track our mountains to pass her bill #R4858 to create her San Gabriel National Recreation Area? And, to get him to do so, what did she have to promise him, in return?
And then, to her surprise, the President turns around, again, bypassing our democratic process, not following standard protocol and adjudicated our mountains as National Monuments.
There are more than 35,000 registered lobbyists in Washington, D.C.—nearly 7 lobbyists for each member of Congress. They spend more than 31/2 billion each year—over 61/2 million per Congressman.
Again, I ask, just what is Congresswomen Chu’s agenda on this ruling on our treasured mountains?
Our government is out of control. It has lost sight of our original principles of being founded as a representative republic.
Are we being represented by Congresswoman Chu?
