Pasadena of yore will come alive as Friends In Deed celebrates 120 years of bringing help and hope to those most in need with a Walk Through History led by KNBC Weatherman Fritz Coleman Nov. 5 at historic Castle Green.
Through song and fashion, special friends of Friends In Deed and the wider community will celebrate That’s What Friends are For in the lively revue of the decades. The revue will highlight key moments in Friends in Deed’s history coinciding with major developments in the growth of Pasadena.
It also will illustrate the success stories of three women who benefited from The Women’s Room, a day center at Friends In Deed for women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. In addition to being entertained and having their hearts touched, guests can expect fun, fabulous food and wine, and a chance to meet new and old friends.
The event also will present four awards honoring decades of outstanding work helping the disenfranchised achieve a rightful place in the community. Honorees are the Rev. Inman Moore, Friends In Deed Award; the Rev. George Regas, Community Award; Soroptimist International of Altadena/Pasadena, Organization Award, and Whole Foods Arroyo Parkway, Corporation Award.
