Buildings evacuated at Canyon High School due chemistry lab mishap

Firefighters evacuated a building at Canyon High School as a precaution after something caused students’ eyes to water in a chemistry lab on Monday afternoon. Police and fire responded to the afternoon call and evacuated the entire school as a precaution. Roads to the school were all blocked off by Monrovia PD.

Monrovia issued a Nixel alert and anxious parents rushed to the school.

Officials have yet to  determine the cause of the irritant. Meanwhile scanner traffic indicated that 7 students were to be treated by paramedics for minor eye irritation,.  No one was transported to hospital and the students were all bussed home or parents picked up their loved ones around 1:30 PM
