Dear Editor:
Dear President Obama — Thank you for designating the San Gabriel Mountains a National Monument!
As a local business owner, I believe we need to keep our region as competitive and desirable as possible. Doing so will help attract both companies and employees to our area. One way to accomplish this is to make sure residents have a place to get outside, breathe fresh air, and explore the outdoors, whether by hiking, bike riding, or camping. The San Gabriel Mountains hold a special place in the hearts of local residents, and I couldn’t be prouder that it will be receiving National Monument designation.
For over a decade, the local community that I am a part of has worked to permanently preserve the San Gabriel Mountains. I wholeheartedly thank you, Mr. President, for listening to our voices. These mountains mean so much to our community. This will contribute to our quality of life and be a huge step toward keeping our region economically competitive and thriving.
