Pasadena City Manager Michael J. Beck responds to judicial decision on McDade report Michael Beck, Pasadena City Manager sent the following statement to media regarding the judicial demand for public records request: “The City intends to respond in a timely fashion to the public records requests submitted by news organizations and others for copies of the Office of Independent Review Group’s report on the officer-involved shooting of Mr. Kendrec McDade now that the Temporary Restraining Order has been lifted by the Court. I want to reaffirm that the City remains committed to an open government, but must also balance that goal with the privacy rights of our police officers as mandated by the state law commonly referred to as the Police Officers Bill of Rights.”
