With the start of the school year upon us, an increase in traffic around the city, and the various school sites should be expected. With this increase in traffic comes the elevated potential for traffic collisions. To help combat this, the Arcadia Police Department Traffic Bureau will be out enforcing traffic laws that directly contribute to collisions.
On, August 27, 2014, the Arcadia Police Department Traffic Bureau conducted an operation targeting drivers who were driving at a speed that is unsafe and for drivers who fail to come to complete stops at posted stop signs. This operation targeted the areas around our schools and will take place throughout the day. Through this operation and its high visibility around the schools, the hope was to dissuade drivers from violating the law. This operation was conducted as part of a Selective Traffic Enforcement Grant received and funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety.
