We’re still working off our food coma from this weekend’s festivities at the LA Food & Wine Fest. The 4th annual Los Angeles Food & Wine Festival brought together some of the culinary world’s biggest names—Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto, Michael Voltaggio, and Nancy Silverton, to name a few—for cooking demos, tastings, seminars, and multi-course lunches and dinners held all around the city.
Festivities kicked off with Ultimate Bites of LA, a walk-around tasting with bites from Bestia, Alma, Drago Centro, M.B. Post, and over twenty other local restaurants, while Friday played host to the Asian Night Market, where Masaharu Morimoto and other notables of the city’s Asian cuisine scene such as Jet Tila, Eddie Wong, and Thi Tran converged onto the decked out Grand Avenue venue. Wine and beer makers, including Justin, Melville, Leffe, and Fergie provided the pours while VIP ticket holders had access to a cooking demonstration from Chef Graham Elliot at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.
Other highlights of the long weekend included a tribute to Nancy Silverton dinner, a five-course, wine-paired meal prepared by the likes of Jonathan Waxman and Michael Chiarello, and a cheese and champagne pairing seminar hosted by James Beard, award-winning cheese expert Laura Werlin.
