Located on a tree-lined residential street in Old Town Pasadena, Regency Park Oak Knoll offers assisted living and memory care for seniors. Surrounded by a tranquil neighborhood, residents are assured of a safe and secure environment combined with specialized care.
One of Oak Knoll’s unique qualities as a memory care community is that, unlike other such communities, the residents are not situated in a locked unit, so all residents enjoy the pleasures of freedom of movement. With a resident population that ranges from early to late-stage dementia, Oak Knoll strives to reproduce a dignified, home-like environment to the maximum extent possible.
The activities program, which has been developed over many years based on focused research and study, is based on the therapeutic principals of occupational therapy. An initial two-week assessment period enables the staff to create an individualized care and activity plan that supports each resident’s level of function while providing a focus specific to the needs of each individual resident.
The goal of Oak Knoll’s activities program is to improve or maintain the quality of life for the resident based on such resident’s physical, emotional, cognitive and social functional abilities. We believe that participation in a vibrant and dynamic activities program helps to maintain and improve the cognitive skills of residents.
In addition, Oak Knoll offers support programs for residents’ family members, as well as the ability to participate in activities with their loved ones.
“The life-changing effects of memory disorders touch not only the persons afflicted, but also the hearts and lives of their loved ones,” said Gladys Broxton, LVN and Executive Director. “We are pleased to be able to offer not only resources to our family members, but also professional support and understanding.”
