A woman was arrested Sunday for allegedly setting fire to her neighbor’s car, Pasadena fire officials said Monday.
The fire broke out at a carport in the 100 block of Meridith Avenue shortly after 7 p.m.
52-year-old Julie Green was arrested for arson for using gasoline as an accelerant to light her neighbor’s car on fire after an ongoing dispute last Sunday.
Fortunately, one resident used a fire extinguisher to stop it from spreading and fire officials on scene quickly to suppress it. Loss was 2000 Volvo. No other injuries or damage occurred, according to Lisa Derderian, spokeswoman for the Pasadena Fire Department.
Derderian didn’t know what the dispute was about. But she said it’s been ongoing for several weeks.
Derderian said the vehicle, a 2000 Volvo, was worth about $4,800. Firefighters estimated damages to the car at $3,500.
