On Friday, March 28, 2014,the state assembly convened its Small Business Advisory Committee to review the nominations and recommend the one business to recognize on California Small Business Day in Sacramento. “All of the nominations were noteworthy and it was a tough task to single out one business, but based on the feedback from the Small Business Advisory Committee Members, the Office of Assemblymember Holden is happy to announce that The Dollmakers’ Kattywompus, “Monrovia’s Original Toy Store,” will be recognized as the 41st AD Small Business of the Year on June 16, 2014, in Sacramento,” a press release said.
Pam Fitzpatrick, owner of The Dollmakers’ Kattywompus, was nominated by Becky Shevlin, Mayor Pro Tem, City of Monrovia who stated, “Pam Fitzpatrick is beyond tireless in her pursuit to not only promote her own family business but to also promote and protect the interests of other businesses in Monrovia Old Town.” Committee Member Donna Baker stated, “They set a good example for others to follow by being involved, showing genuine concern for others, and giving back, both with their time and energy.”
