

A press release was issued on February 12, 2014, regarding a child annoyance in the city of Rosemead. As a result of the press release, Temple Sheriff’s Station Investigators learned that in early January, an 11-year old male was accosted near Del Mar Avenue and Emerson Place, Rosemead, and the incident went unreported. An investigation was launched by investigators and it is alleged the suspect attempted to kidnap the 11-year old male from a public sidewalk in January of 2014.
On Sunday, February 16, 2014, at approximately10:00 A.M., Temple Sheriff’s Station deputies observed a male matching the identified suspect in the attempted kidnap case. The suspect was walking on the 2700 block of Del Mar Avenue, Rosemead. The suspect was detained, identified, and arrested without incident. The suspect was identified as Bin Zhang (male adult, 44, resident of San Gabriel).
He was transported to Temple Sheriff’s Station where he was booked on Attempt Kidnapping charges, and is currently being held in lieu of $100,000.00 bail.
