

In 2009, Alex and Tracy Ramirez both found themselves unemployed and running out of options for their small family. So, they inquired about a little restaurant space inside of a corner market down the street from their home. What would happen over the next 4 years exceeded any expectations they could ever dream of.
Committed to consistency of quality and providing guests with an outstanding eating experience, The Market Grill has gained a solid reputation for putting their hearts into every meal that leaves the kitchen. The ever-changing weekly specials and eclectic rotation of homemade soups allow guests to have a deliciously different experience with every visit. Awards and accolades aside, The Market Grill adopts a DIY philosophy and casual atmosphere that invites guests to relax and enjoy great food in a very quirky setting. Tracy’s extensive and ever growing Salt & Pepper shaker collection paired with a music play list as unpredictable as their Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookies which I recently discovered, by accident. These unusual cookies ( not recommended for vegetarians) and the fact that local firefighters eat here regularly says a lot and adds distinctive personality to the popular grill.
Their fresh ground burgers made with homemade buns were voted best in Monrovia on a hyper local blog and have been mentioned in many other publications around the SGV and Los Angeles. They also specialize in unique sandwiches and homemade soups, fresh baked desserts (namely Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookies –) and homemade salad dressings.
