Police Helicopters assist with use of Infra-Red – 3 Arrested
At approximately 3:30 AM, Temple Station deputies assigned to the Duarte area came upon an indoor marijuana cultivation operation during a 459PC ( possible robbery in progress ) investigation.
As deputies arrived at the location (in the 1500 block of Highland Avenue, Duarte) Aero Bureau personnel noticed unusually high heat signatures coming from inside the building as they scanned the area with F.L.I.R (Forward Looking Infra-Red). The pilots then observed 3 men exiting the rear of the location, who were then detained by the deputies.
Continuing their investigation, deputies entered the location to conduct a protective sweep and observed approximately 100 mature marijuana plants (as well as 100 clones) growing throughout the building.
Narcotics Detectives were notified and responded to the scene. A search warrant was authored and the plants, as well as approximately $5,000, were recovered during the investigation. The seized plants have an estimated street value of $6,000 to $10,000.
