Friends and coworkers of Monrovia School Superintendent Debby Collins gathered on Tuesday, August 13th to say “We Love You Debby.” The occasion was her retirement after her short tenure as Superintendent and long career with Monrovia Unified School District.
She came to Monrovia Schools from Irvine School District and served first as the principal of Plymouth School. At the event, speaker after speaker recounted that the one thing Debby could always be counted upon throughout her long career was her dedication to the children of the district.
Her immediate predecessor as Superintendent, Dr. Linda Wagner, summed up Debby very simply as she put it “in less than 10 words.” She said, “Debby Collins, always, always, always does the right thing.”
