Dear Editor:
We have an amazing Police Department in Monrovia. On Saturday morning, July 13, a thief entered my unlocked car and stole my purse. My car was parked in a driveway on Norumbega Drive in Monrovia. Within hours the Monrovia Police had captured the thief and retrieved my purse with all my identification and credit cards intact.
Officer Cofield, who dealt with me, both before and after the thief was apprehended, was most calm, courteous, and pleasant. Linda, at the front desk of the Department was also especially kind and prompt in directing me to an officer. The officers and staff at the Department made the experience as pleasant as possible. I am most grateful. And the officers incredibly prompt arrest of the thief and retrieval of my personal property was most impressive.
The lesson learned: ALWAYS lock your car! Even if you are only leaving it for a few minutes….
Thank you Monrovia Police Department.
