Pasadena Fire units responded to reported building fire. Upon arrival Engine 36 found heavy fire through the roof. Because of the amount of fire, the decision was made to fight this fire in a defensive attack. The fire was divided into 4 divisions, 2 ladder pipe evolutions and an exposure group. None of the surrounding structures were damaged. Los Angeles County Fire Engine 11, Engine 12 and Battalion 4 arrived on scene to assist. The structure involved was the “Neighbors Acting Together Helping All” (NATHA) day care center at 466 West Montana St.in Pasadena. Pasadena Arson Investigator 3 responded to incident. The fire is under investigation.
There were no injuries. 5 Engines, 2 Trucks, 2 Battalion Chiefs, 2 Rescue Ambulances, 41 Firefighters battled the early morning fire plus 1 Arson Investigator, 1 PIO and 4 PPD officers. The damage is estimated at
$ 1.5 million structure $ 250,000 content. Michael Maas, Battalion Chief said the fire was reported at 5:21 AM Saturday.
