

Donto James, the son of the late legendary Jazz and Blues singer Etta James, will appear for the first time as a Vocal Soloist with The Sons of Etta Band in a Tribute To Etta James and Johnny Otis at The 17th Annual Central Avenue Jazz Festival, presented by the office of Councilmember Jan Perry, the City of Los Angeles and Coalition for Responsible Community Development. The Festival will be held on Central Avenue and 42nd Street in Los Angeles, CA across from the historic Dunbar Hotel on Saturday and Sunday, July 28 and 29, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Donto James will appear on Saturday, July 28th from 2:35 – 3:25 p.m. with the Sons of Etta Band led by Jimmy Z, and also featuring vocalist Thelma Jones in a Tribute to Etta James and Johnny Otis. The Sons of Etta Band is known for playing blues and soul music in the tradition of Etta James and other great blues singers and musicians. Led by harmonica player, vocalist and saxophonist, Jimmy Z, the band is comprised of vocalist Thelma Jones and drummer and vocalist Donto James, along with Mo Beeks on Keyboards and Vocals, BR Millon on Guitar and Vocals, Mick Linden on Bass, John Vandenberg on Trumpet, and Lance Keller on Trombone.
