Assemblymember Anthony Portantino (D- La Cañada Flintridge) has named Gloria Huss and Monrovia Floral as the 44th Assembly District Small Business of the Year. Mrs. Huss will be honored at ceremonies in Sacramento, Monday, June 11.
“I am pleased to recognize Gloria Huss for her dedication and hard work in Monrovia and the San Gabriel Valley,” stated Assemblymember Portantino. “Gloria is a success not only because of her business acumen, but because she gives back to the community through the countless hours she contributes to the Monrovia Chamber of Commerce and the Monrovia-Arcadia-Duarte Town Council.”
For 23 years, Gloria Huss and Monrovia Floral has been a fixture on Olive Avenue. In addition to running a demanding floral business, Huss is a long-standing member of the Monrovia Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the membership committee. She was honored this year with the Dick Lord Award for her many years of service to the Chamber. She also serves as secretary of the Monrovia, Arcadia, Duarte Town Council known as MAD. In addition, Ms. Huss volunteers her time providing her expertise in helping film production companies with production shoots in Monrovia. And, in her spare time, she volunteers at the Pet Food Bank of the Foothill Unity Center.
