Monrovia Duarte Black Alumni Association (MDBAA) awarded college scholarships to the following students from Monrovia High School (left to right): Breana Boone, Nicole Matthews, Giselle Moreau, Skylar Buchnan and Akira McDaniels. The Annual Senior Recognition Night was held on Monday night at MHS. MDBAA’s slogan is HOPE: “Helping Others Pursue Education.” Eloise emphasized the slogan as she distributed the scholarships to the recipients. MDBAA holds various fundraisers throughout the year to fund college scholarships to Monrovia and Duarte High School Seniors. Our upcoming event will be our 20th Annual Family Picnic on Saturday, June 23, 2012, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Monrovia Recreation Park located on the corner of Lemon and Shamrock.
