All of our 8th grade students will be participating and we invite the community to share in this incredible day. Come hear First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln and Harriet Tubman talk about the war and their trials. See a real musket fired by our infantry and a cannon fired by our artillery re-enactors. Talk to a cavalry officer. Experience what life was like for a Zouave soldier. Enjoy making fresh butter. Hear what life was like for women during the Civil War. Learn to square dance. Finally, hear Civil War music by the celebrated “Americus Brass Band.” We would greatly appreciate you sending a representative to cover this event as it will serve nearly 500 families in our community. This event promises to be a wonderful experience for all involved and an incredible learning opportunity to kids and adults alike.
The event will be held March 18th on our campus from 8:35am to 2:45pm at:
Oak Avenue Intermediate
6623 Oak Avenue
Temple City, CA 91780
(626) 548-5060
