

On Monday, July 20, 2009 at approximately 2:17 p.m., Arcadia Police officers responded to the 911 report of a drowning victim in the backyard of a home in the 1300 Blk. Michillinda Ave., Arcadia.
Responding officers discovered homeowners administering CPR to a nine-year old female. Officers took over life saving efforts until Arcadia Fire Paramedics arrived on scene. Paramedics administered basic life support measures before transporting the victim to Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena. The victim was transported in critical condition on life support systems.
Preliminary investigation revealed the victim had been swimming with other children in the backyard pool. At some point the victim was discovered underwater in the deep end. The victim was retrieved from the pool and life-saving efforts were initiated. The young girl died 2 days later.
